Conditions We Have Helped
- Balance issues
- Adverse neurological effects after surgeries
Typical Treatment Plan
Treatment plans consist of rigorous brain rehabilitation that requires patients’ commitment and effort. Our treatment consists of active therapy meaning the patient is often performing the exercises. Dr. Kornfeld will directly supervise all sessions. In other words, you will be with the doctor your entire time here at Quince Orchard Medical Center.
Our treatment plans include 3 consultations consisting of diagnostic and physical examinations. These occur during the initial intake, mid-treatment plan, and final session.
This allows us to follow up throughout your plan to ensure you are responding favorably and see if we need to alter your treatment to achieve the best possible results.
“I fell backwards and hit my head on a concrete floor, suffering a concussion. My concern was after 15 months I still was unstable, not sleeping, nauseous, dizzy, and fatigued. I felt better after the 1st day of treatment! Dr. Kornfeld was so warm and professional. The treatments were on schedule and gave me HOPE and confirmed what I was feeling.” – T.F.
We use state of the art technology to help us with our diagnostic testing, neurological examination, and treatment. This includes:
- Vielight® Neuro Duo
- Vestibular First® Infrared Video Goggles
- Cadwell® Sierra Summit
- Motion Guidance® Laser Kit
Our Treatment Advantages
Our treatment utilizes the concept of neuroplasticity. This term, coined in the late 1900s, defines the brains ability to form new connections as new demands are placed upon it. A common example is your brains ability to learn something new in school. At Quince Orchard Medical Center, Dr. Kornfeld is able to use neuroplasticity as a basis for treatment and utilizes the human body’s sensory systems to place new demands on the brain and force it to adapt in a positive way that increases patient’s quality of life. This perspective leads to incredible results that many would consider unachievable. Since our goal is to improve brain function, not specific conditions, many patients that have been turned away have found great success here in improving their quality of life.
Our treatment plans are individualized for each patient and directly correlate to the diagnostic and examination findings that are collected during the initial consultation. This allows the patient to receive customized rehabilitation exercises that directly coincide with his or her level of brain function. Treatment may consist of:
- Complex motor movements
- Vestibular therapy
- Gaze stability
- Somatosensory evoked potentials
- Visual oculomotor reintegration
- Hand-eye reintegration
- Gait training
- Proprioceptive feedback
- Cold laser therapy and much more
Our treatment model paired with our thorough diagnostic and examination testing allows Dr. Kornfeld to objectively evaluate brain function pre and post-care through ocular evaluation, cognitive processing, balance, and vestibular function.
A better functioning brain often leads to a DECREASE IN YOUR SYMPTOMS and has a profound impact on both you and your caregivers!
