Meet Kara Kelly, NP
Kara is an accomplished Nurse Practitioner who is passionate about empowering her patients to become the optimal version of themselves through a healthy lifestyle that promotes preventative care.She is an expert in hormone balance for women and men, medical weight loss, disease prevention and is an integrative medicine specialist.
Kara is certified in the surgical placement of Bio-Identical Hormone Pellet Therapy (BHRT). She is also a certified medical cannabis provider and manages chronic pain, insomnia mood imblanace and fatigue with this therapy.
Her integrative approach utilizes in-depth testing and balancing treatments to reverse chronic conditions. Kara has done advanced Plasma Rich Platelet (PRP) joint injection therapy as a holistic option for joint health for pain and osteoarthritis.
Kara is an exercise physiologist and coaches marathoners and youth running groups. She had done over 60 marathons, including 7 Boston Marathons and 3 Half-Ironman Triathlons. Fitness and nutrition plans are integrated into her patient care plans, she consumes a plant based vegetarian diet and believes both exercise and food are healing for wellness and disease reversal and prevention.
She is board certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. She obtained her Family Nurse Practitioner degree at Georgetown University in 2014, a Master of Science in Exercise and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Cleveland Univeristy. She completed additional coursework at the doctoral level in Exercise at The Ohio State University.
Kara resides in Frederick, Maryalnd with her two teen sons who are also competitve athletes.
