Quince Orchard Medical Center is pleased to announce a new service for our local community. Provided by Kara, Kelly, NP, Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy is a quickly growing alternative to traditional hormone replacement therapy. It’s often referred to as “natural hormone therapy” because bioidentical hormones act in the body just like the hormones we produce.
How Can BHRT Help You?
BHRT can be used to treat men and women when their hormone levels drop or become unbalanced. It’s most frequently used to ease symptoms of:
- Perimenopause
- Menopause
- Urinary problems
- Incontinence
- Low libido
- Sleep deprivation
But can also be used for
- Andropause
- Low testosterone
- Erectile dysfunction
Bioidentical hormones are identical in molecular structure to the hormones people make in their bodies and are made from a plant chemical extracted from yams and soy. Estrogen, progesterone, and testosterone are among those most commonly replicated and used in treatment. Bioidentical hormones come in various forms, including:
- injections
- pellets
- pills
- patches
- creams
- gels
Kara will be available to answer questions about BHRT September 17th from 2pm - 6pm. Please call our office at 301-762-6686 to schedule a FREE appointment to meet our new Nurse Practitioner.
